Diet-O-Pedia
Diet‑O‑Pedia is a peer‑updating class initiated by the Community Nutrition Forum, Kerala. It serves as a monthly continuing education platform for dietitians, educators, and health professionals. The program is designed to keep participants in step with evolving nutrition science and emerging practices. Each month, CNF dietitians convene over a Zoom session to explore a relevant topic of current importance. Sessions are led by subject matter experts from diverse fields of nutrition and health. Presentations are followed by an interactive Q&A, encouraging dialogue and practical insights. This structure ensures that knowledge is not only shared but also contextualized for real‑world application. Diet‑O‑Pedia fosters collaboration, professional growth, and evidence‑based practice among Kerala’s nutrition community. By bridging science with practice, it strengthens the collective expertise of dietitians and allied professionals. Ultimately, it reflects CNF’s commitment to advancing nutrition education and community wellness.
Research & Development at CNF Kerala
Meraki is the research wing of the Community Nutrition Forum, Kerala. Inspired by the Greek word meaning “to do something with soul, creativity, and love,” Meraki embodies our belief that research pursued with heart can transform how the world understands nutrition. Each month, CNF members gather to analyze, interpret, and discuss recent scientific literature spanning clinical, community, and behavioral nutrition. More than a review forum, Meraki nurtures a culture of critical thinking, evidence‑based dialogue, and shared learning. It provides mentorship for young dietitians while offering seasoned professionals a space for meaningful exchange. Through this rhythm of inquiry and collaboration, Meraki strengthens the collective voice of Kerala’s nutrition community. By weaving science with creativity, it ensures that research becomes not just knowledge, but a catalyst for growth and impact.
Academic Collaborations
At the Community Nutrition Forum, Kerala (CNF), academia is embraced as an ecosystem where ideas evolve, evidence strengthens, and collaboration nurtures growth. Through partnerships with universities and global research bodies, CNF builds a future‑ready community of dietitians rooted in science, ethics, and empathy. Our research wing, Meraki, embodies this spirit by cultivating critical thinking, evidence‑based dialogue, and shared learning across clinical, community, and behavioral nutrition. Each month, members engage in literature reviews and discussions that connect young dietitians with mentorship and professionals with meaningful dialogue. CNF has also formalized its commitment to academic synergy through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JDT Islam College, Department of Food Technology. This collaboration fosters student mentorship, research training, and hands‑on exposure in food science and nutritional psychology. By bridging classroom learning with community application, CNF prepares students not only for careers but for enlightened engagement in nutrition and public health. Together, these collaborations strengthen CNF’s mission to advance knowledge and empower the nutrition community.
News and Events
The Community Nutrition Forum, Kerala (CNF) has successfully organized impactful events such as Diab@ease 2021 and 2023, along with Webinarathon 2024 and 2025. Each of these initiatives was carefully aligned with CNF’s mission to advance nutrition awareness and empower communities. Designed with clear goals in mind, the events provided platforms for dialogue, education, and evidence‑based practice. They played a vital role in raising public awareness about pressing health issues and nutrition science. Importantly, these programs also addressed the growing challenge of misinformation, ensuring that accurate knowledge reached the public. By combining expert presentations with interactive engagement, CNF created spaces where science could be translated into practical understanding. The continuity of these events reflects CNF’s commitment to sustained community outreach and professional development. Together, they highlight CNF Kerala’s dedication to building a healthier, better‑informed society.
